About Our Coffee

Lucy's primary coffee bean source is from a company called Royal Blue Organics and is the importer-wholesaler of Cafe Mam (pronounced "mom") coffee. Cafe Mam is certified Fair Trade and 100% Organic. What this means is a much

healthier product for the grower, the consumer, and the environment. Fair Trade ensures that family farmers receive a fair price for their products. This allows millions of people around the world to stay on their land, put food on the table, and keep kids in school. Fair Trade empowers farming families to take care of themselves and provide hope for the future. Fair Trade farmers are careful stewards of the land they occupy. Most high yielding coffee trees are sun grown and sprayed with herbicides and pesticides aerially. Such farming techniques destroy the forests, which are winter homes to millions of North American songbirds. Cafe Mam farmers preserve the jungle canopy by growing in the shade, which protects the biological diversity of plants and animals vital to the ecosystem. They grow their crops in harmony with nature and without the use of harmful chemicals. The Cafe Mam farmers practice terracing, composting, and regenerative pruning. They also plant leguminous shade trees and establish a seedling nursery before their harvest is classified as organic.

Lucy's is confident in stating that Cafe Mam coffee is free of contaminants. The "Swiss Water Decaffeinating Process" is also a certified organic process.

We carry a great selection of organic coffees and teas as well as utilizing some organic ingredients in our pastry production.

We currently recycle all of our plastic milk jugs, cardboard, and newspaper. Many of our paper products are produced without the use of elemental chlorine bleach and we are always on the lookout for more environmentally friendly products.
